Hi Rodolpho, I think that the rating system for various sites is a good idea. it might also be a good idea to have something like an equipment review to have user recommendations about different types of boards and safety equipment. This might also be a revenus source for equipment vendors/brand advertising in addition to the possible skate parks. It might also be useful to solicit user info about the general age group and skill level of the average user at the different locations. Since there is some level of competition in this you don't want a location to be to easy or too hard. Just a thought.
Thanx AGF

One other area you might check into is getting the maping set up where it will display correctly on mobile devices like the I-Phone as many users may want to find another place to skate while they are out and about.

Rodolfo,

Thinking long-term on how you can support this site you may want to look at charging skateparks for advertisign space on your site. Your primary focus could be on the free parks and general areas to skate with only a minor mention of parks that cost money. If the park wanted more info displayed or banners running on your site they could pay for premium content to be listed.

I think that you may want to think of some type of user rating system for each park also. For instance even though it would be cheesy they could get 4/5 skateboard rating or wheel rating etc.

A chat room could be interesting to so that skaters could talk with each other and set up times to meet at parks etc.

Rodolfo,

Think through the media and the means that would link this community closer together. I think you are dead on regarding video, but think about other web based tools that would really elevate the discussion about skateboarding, events, etc.
